The LPT component is a hardware driver component for communication through parallel devices.
The Windows version of the LPT component can use any parallel port ("LPTx:") known to the
operating system.
Since Windows NT version, direct access to the I/O-Ports is disallowed. Because of that, the LPT component
uses the standard printer port features for output, which require handshake from e.g. a printer. An adapter
device, which generates the required handshake signals is available from BSK.
